PK Viswanath and Anand Dorai won the QGL 204 Texas Scramble 4 Club Challenge on 22 October 2021 at DGC Academy Course with a flawless game and exceptional teamwork, with a winning net score of 30.4 (gross 35). The Team of Capt. Mohan Atla and Dr. J.B. Roy finished second despite consecutive three birdies in a row on Hole # 5, 6 and 7, while scoring a net score of 31, with the best gross score of 33. On course prizes for the Longest Drive went to Akshay Randheva, Closest to pin went to Capt. Mohan Atla, the Longest Putt went to Manna Dey.

Dr Ahsan Pachisa played fabulous golf to emerge victorious in the 195th monthly golf tournament organised by Qatar Golf Lovers at the Doha Golf Club over the weekend. Akshay Randeva was declared runner-up of the competition that was played on a "Four Club Challenge" format where players were allowed to play with only four clubs in their bag. Dr Amitav Mitra won the 'longest putt' award, and Kumar Natarajan won the 'closest to rope' award. QGL president Manoj Megchiani gave away prizes to all the winners. Vice-president Sanjay Jain welcomed 13 new members to the club who are currently undergoing coaching organized by QGL. He wished them good luck and is eager to see them participating in the next tournament.

QGL bids farewell to founder President Mathew

Qatar Golf Lovers bid farewell to PK Mathew who has been it's president since inception in 2001. QGL organised a farewell golf tournament in his honour over the weekend at the Doha Golf Club. Thirty-six golfers participated in the event which was played on a strokeplay format. Jasjit Butalia emerged victorious in the competition while Navid Bukhari and Arnav Jain were declared first and second runner-up respectively. Manoj Megchiani won the 'longest putt' award, Saad Kazi won the 'closest to pin' award and Ravi Shankar won the 'longest drive' award. Mathew, a longtime resident of Qatar, founded Qatar Golf Lovers (QGL) in 2001 with eight members, which currently boasts of a membership of over 100 golfers belonging to over a dozen nationalities. Mathew has been the chief organizer of golf tournaments every month under the QGL banner and has organised 194 tournaments during the past 20 years. QGL founder member Manoj Megchiani, who is taking over as president, was all praise for Mathew's leadership, organisational skills and commitment in making QGL the largest and most active golf society in Qatar. He also acknowledged Mathew's contribution to golf in Qatar by way of arranging golf coaching for beginners by PGA professionals, organising on-the-course training to new golfers and assisting in organising major events like Qatar Senior Open, Ryder Cup and India Cup tournaments. In his farewell speech, Mathew thanked Doha Golf Club and all QGL members for their support and co-operation over the years. He also thanked QGL's various sponsors particularly Fazal Kazi and Ivor D'cunha, who have been sponsoring QGL tournaments on a regular basis in the past.
